Chapter 27: The Elevator Kiss
She moistened her dry
lips and trembled when Jack looked at her and gave her his signature wink. They wait for the elevator to arrive to take them
upstairs to their serenity suite. She gives him another smile. The elevator door opened, they stepped inside alone. Jack pressed
their floor number and the elevator car begins to rise.
In the elevator, Jack
turns to her and brushes his lips over hers. Sue kisses him back and with a bold move, she slips her tongue inside his mouth.
Jack kisses her forehead, her earlobe and then skimmed his mouth down her neck, and she shivered. Cradling her head in both
his hands, Jack angles her mouth to kiss her thoroughly. Sue is lost in his embrace, as his mouth works magic over hers. She
buried her face against his neck and sighs just as Jack brushes a lock of hair away from her face.
When
he lifted his head and stared into her eyes, both were out of breath. That’s when Jack remembers they are still in the
elevator. Jack thinking:
Sue turns me inside out with only a look or a smile. Tonight I’m going to show Sue all the reasons why I have fallen
madly in love with her.
Before things get out of hand, the bell chimed softly and the elevator door stopped at
their floor. As the elevator door opened, Jack takes her hand and walks down the hallway to their suite.
Standing outside their door, Sue gives Jack a kiss on the cheek. Jack opens the door to their suite and ushers her inside,
turns around to lock the door.
Jack: Sue, I want to explain about
that kiss in the elevator. (megawatt smile)
Sue: Explain, but you don’t
need to explain anything. (lighthearted smile)
Jack: I want
to anyway…I mean I’ve never kissed anyone in the elevator before. It’s
because of you…God, you’re beautiful. I just wanted you to know how I feel. (megawatt smile
and his signature wink)
Sue: I want you to know
that I’ve never kissed anyone in the elevator either. Jack, you make me
feel beautiful and desirable all at once. It’s one of the many reasons why I love you so much. (cheerful smile)
Jack: I love you too. You should also know that you are my fantasy. (megawatt smile, raise eyebrows, and teases Sue)
Sue: I’m not sure I read your
lips right. Would you mind repeating what you just said? (lighthearted smile and teases Jack)
Jack: Sure. I said you are my fantasy. (megawatt
smile and his signature wink)
Sue: I thought that’s what
you said. But I’m not sure I can live up to your expectations of being a fantasy. (shy smile)
Jack: Do you want to try? (megawatt
smile and teases Sue)
Sue: Sure. I’ll
give it a try. What are we going to do about this? (shy smile)
Looking at his watch, 30 minutes to midnight 2005
Jack pops the cork of the Merlot bottle and pours two glasses. He hands one glass to Sue, the other one he holds
in his hand. As Dick Clark starts the countdown in New York; 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Jack pulls Sue into his arms.
The ball drops down in Time Square, and confetti scatter everywhere and everyone shouts out Happy New Year!
Jack: We should watch
the Dick Clark’s Rocking Eve show. It’s been a tradition in the Hudson
household to watch Dick Clark ring in the New Year. (megawatt smile)
Sue: Great idea. I always
like watching the ball drop in Time Square. And then everyone goes a little crazy. (lighthearted
smile and laughs)
Jack: Do you know what your
New Year’s Resolution is going to be? I’ll go first…My new year’s resolution is to give you everything
that you deserve. Most importantly, you have my heart for today, tomorrow, and for all time. (megawatt smile and his signature
wink)
Sue: Oh. That was so beautiful,
Jack. My new year’s resolution is to cherish every single moment we have together and to give you unconditional love.
Because that’s what you show me everyday. (dazzling smile)
