28: V-Day Surprises For Jack
Jack wakes up first and goes downstairs to make his famous Belgium waffles.
When Sue wakes up the next morning, she sees more rose petals spread all around her and one single rose atop his pillow. On the rose was a note that said; “Good
Morning Beautiful”, “today is the start of a whole new chapter of our life together”.
Just then, Jack walks in the room carrying a breakfast tray filled with
Belgium waffles, French toast, orange juice, and black coffee. He comes over to
the bed and sits down next to Sue.
Sue: You made me breakfast in bed.
But I was going to make you breakfast in bed this morning. Why didn’t you wake me up? (lighthearted smile)
Jack: So you’ll make me breakfast
in bed tomorrow. I thought I would let you sleep in this morning after all the excitement of last night. (megawatt smile and
his signature wink)
Sue: That’s sweet of you. This
is really good. I’m impressed. Thank you for a delicious breakfast. (dazzling smile)
Jack: Well, you keep complaining that
I have not made my Belgium waffles for
you, today is your lucky day. Now I can say I told you so. (megawatt smile)
Sue: You’re right. How about
we take turns making each other breakfast every two weeks? (curious smile)
Jack: That’s a great idea. I
seem to remember you telling me I have some presents to open. (megawatt smile and raise eyebrows)
Sue: Oh yeah. Your presents are downstairs
in the living room. (lighthearted smile)
They went downstairs and Jack sits down on the loveseat. Jack opens his first gift; it is an oil painting of Jack and
Sue holding hands in front of Jardin du Luxembourg.
Sue hands Jack his second gift; it is a love coupon book. He flips through it and reads some of the entries;
such as: this coupon is good for your favorite candlelight dinner, this coupon
is good for one free massage, this coupon is good for a night of dancing under the stars, this coupon is good for one action
flick, this coupon is good for hugs throughout the day, this coupon is good for a romantic picnic, and this coupon is good
for a romantic getaway.
There
are other coupons that are really cute and funny to read, the best part is there’s no expiration date. Jack can use
the coupon book anytime he wants or needs a get-out-of-trouble-with-Sue day.
Jack opens his third gift; it is a musical teddy bear water-globe. There
is a cute teddy bear couple ready to weather any storm together under an umbrella of love. No rain can dampen the love these
two lovable teddy bears share. Jack turns the knob and hears “When
You Say Nothing At All” being played as the teddy bear couple spins around the water-globe.
Sue hands Jack another box, Jack shakes it to try and figure out what is inside. He opens it up to find a jigsaw puzzle with
a message on it. The completed puzzle will spell out this
sentence: Heart to heart. I’m crazy about you. Love always, Sue.
Jack
opens his next present; inside is Viper
GTS Coupe remote control car. Jack loves his
new toy car. Then Sue gives
Jack another gift to open; it is a beautiful red heart-shaped bottle with a timeless message inside and has an elegant glass
topper. Jack opens the topper and reads the message.
The first
verse is the original love note that Jack wrote to Sue during their Christmas holiday. At the bottom is a love note that Sue
has written for Jack. Here’s what it says:
By the time you read this, I’ll be on my way to the cabin. I just wanted you to know
that I’ll be thinking about you all day. Every day is so much sweeter because you’re in my life. So I thought
it was time to let you know how much I treasure you. Until I see you tomorrow, this love note will have to do. You hold the
key to my heart. I will always love you. Your soul mate, Jack Hudson.
You
are an amazing person. I don’t know how I ever got along in my life without
you. I’m enthralled by your charms. And in your arms, is where I want to be forever. God sent an angel down to me. I
have found my one and only true love with you. Having you in my life fulfills every wish that I ever made. I will always love you. Your soul mate, Sue Thomas.
Now Jack can put the bottle on the mantle or on the dresser in his bedroom
where he can see it everyday. As Jack unwraps the next box, inside there are three glazed authentic red roses. Why these roses?
These three red roses are very special because they come from the two dozen roses which Jack bought for Sue during their Paris trip.
These three authentic red roses are each preserved forever under a clear acrylic glaze
and the leaves and stem are dipped in 24kt gold. Each red rose is 12 inches in length wrapped in a beautiful gift box and
comes along with a personalized message for Jack. This poem is entitled “"I Just Knew”.
I wonder if you know how truly special you are. I wonder if you know how much I hoped
you would come my way. Like an answer to a prayer, my knight in shining armor.
There you appeared, right before my eyes.
The first day we met I could see, that you and I were meant to be. Along you came in an instant you swept me off my feet. I love
the way you smile, I love the way you laugh at my silly jokes. And when you first held my hand I just knew.
You are the sun that always seems to brighten up my day. You are my shining star high above
perfect in every way. You are the keeper of my dreams. And if we should ever lose our way, your love shall be a beacon even
on the darkest night for me to hold onto.
A love so few have ever known, for you are
the one, I get to call my own; “Mr. Right”. And the first time you
kissed me under the Paris moonlight I just knew.
The whisper of your voice, the warmth of your touch, So many little things that make me love you twice
as much day in, day out. The way you support me, the way that you care, the way that you’re always there. The way your
eyes shine when you look at me. Lost with you forever is where I want to be. The way that I feel when you’re by my side…
My heart is complete and overflows with loving pride. The
first time you said “I love you”; you took my breath away. I just
knew I found what I’ve been searching for all my life when you came along.
The way that you kiss, fills me with desire, how you start a fire with just one tender look.
The man who holds my heart in his hands forevermore…The only man I want to share my life with. The only one with whom I am certain to love until the end of time.
When I first saw you sitting at your desk, I just knew it was love at first sight.
How deep in my soul, you are the most important part. My heart recognizes you are the only one
even before we took a chance on us. One thing you should always know my love for you is real. One thing that will never change,
my heart will always stay true. And when your eyes held mine, I just knew I loved
you from the start.
