Chapter 30:
Their First Anniversary
One Year Later, Celebrating Their First Anniversary
Jack is wearing his black tux, looking marvelous as always. Then Sue walks out of their bedroom and
turns around in front of Jack so he can look at her dress. Sue is wearing a full length emerald silk gown with thin spaghetti
straps.
This dress features a small v-neck in front with floral sequins on bodice. And a deep v-neck in back
with several crisscross straps clasped by a sparkling brooch. Sue slips on her emerald three inch heels. Sue looks so divine.
Jack could only stare in amazement.
He walks up behind her and looks her up and down appreciatively. Jack manages to give Sue
goose-bumps whenever he is close by. Sue made a very special dinner for them and set it out on the patio. They had a lovely
meal complete with French onion soup, chicken salad, roasted vegetables, filet mignon, shrimp scampi, chocolate mousse, and
bottle of chardonnay.
Afterwards, they sit on the loveseat and watch their
wedding video. It was the perfect way for Jack and Sue to celebrate their first wedding anniversary and create new memories
to last a lifetime.
Jack: Signing: Wow! Speaking-You know; there really ought
to be a law. (megawatt smile and raise eyebrows)
Sue: I beg your pardon. There should be a law against what,
honey? (lighthearted smile and teases Jack)
Jack: Against a woman looking breathtaking, mesmerizing,
and alluring all at once in the dress you’re wearing right now. (megawatt smile, whistles, and gives her his signature
wink)
Sue: Signing-Thank You!
Speaking-Flattery will get you everywhere. And might I add, you look suave and enthralling. By the way, do you know
what today is? (radiant smile and with a little curtsy)
Jack: I sure do. It’s our first wedding anniversary.
You thought I would forget. (megawatt smile and raise eyebrows)
Sue: I wasn’t sure. I mean, you’ve been working
really hard catching the bad guys. I figured I would be on the back burner so to speak. (lighthearted smile and teases Jack)
Jack: Not a chance. Shall we go downstairs Mrs. Hudson
and enjoy our dinner. (megawatt smile and his signature wink)
During Their Anniversary Dinner & Exchanging Presents
Jack: I’d like to make a toast. To my darling Sue, you have given me pure joy in one
year. On this day, our lifetime of forever began. Today, I pledge my love to you once more. I want you to know that it’s
always been you from the moment we met. As time goes on; my love for you increases tenfold day in, day out. Hanging out with
you is still my favorite pastime. So let me just say, Happy 1st Anniversary sweetheart. And here’s too sharing
many more happy times together.
Sue: Wow! That was beautiful. I don’t have quite a knack for words like you do. To my darling Jack, I have had the most wonderful year with you. I am still overcome by a single glance, a single
touch; to put it simply you light up my life every morning when I wake up next to you. On this day, one year ago, I pledged
my love to you always and forever. And today, I pledge my love to you once more. With each new tomorrow, my happiness increases
tenfold. For you bring love and laughter to every corner of my heart. Our love song plays until eternity is through as long
as you are by my side. And I look forward to the happy times that are still ahead of us. So let me just say; to my wonderful
husband, Happy 1st Anniversary.
Sue opens her first present and sees a long stem rose
box wrapped with tissue paper and ribbons with vase; inside are twelve red paper roses with the words Jack & Sue---One Heart –Together
Forever---June 17, 2007---Happy 1st Anniversary on each rose. And on the thirteenth rose is a picture of them on their wedding day.
Sue starts crying because she is
so happy. She does not notice two cute cuddly bears with a heart on their chest on the sofa. There’s more.
A picture frame made of maple wood
is accentuated with a photo of Jack and Sue in his black tux and her stunning white wedding gown also includes a mini-just
paper rose in the corner.
Two
satin red front and white back pillows pinned with a mini just paper rose with the words Jack & Sue’s Happy 1st Paper Anniversary
completes this gift set.
Jack opens his first gift box; and sees a double sided glass poetry
dome with wooden base. There are two real red roses with greenery
inside each side of the dome. The poem is printed on the front side and on the back side of the dome is a wallet size photograph
of Jack & Sue on their honeymoon.
Here’s
what the poem says; Happy 1st Anniversary Jack.
Your love and tenderness makes me the luckiest person in the world. Like a favorite blanket on a chilly night or
when I’m feeling blue, your love surrounds me. With a loving glance or a tender kiss you make my worries disappear.
Nobody else can know my thoughts or touch my soul the way you do. Like your one-of-a-kind hug, in your arms I always
feel safe. You shelter me from the storm on any given night. You are my best friend, my soul-mate, my endless love.
Jack Hudson, in case you didn’t know it already, you are the best part of my day. I’m so thankful to
you for capturing my heart.
Each day my first thought is that I am so blessed to be your wife. I know this much is true; you make my life worthwhile.
Without you by my side, life as I know it would be meaningless. I treasure the love I receive day after day from you and the
laughter you bring now and forever. I love you today, tomorrow, and always.
All my love; Sue. June 17, 2007.
