Sue: Well, that depends.
How much are you willing to spend on your wife and baby? I feel like having pizza, burger, sub sandwich, banana shake, frozen
yogurt, and fruit salad. Not necessarily in that order. I’ll save some of the food for dinner tonight. And you’ll
probably have to go to the grocery store this week and stock up on ice cream, ginger ale, and chocolate-covered pretzels too.
If I think of anything else that I’m craving for, I’ll let you know. (radiant smile, laughs, and teases Jack)
Jack: Okay. I’ll do that once I get off work tonight. On second thought, I’ll just call in sick and play
hokey with my wife for the rest of the afternoon. For once, it is a slow day at the bureau. And I need to take care of my
wife. (megawatt smile and his signature wink)
Sue: Then you better
take me to long lunch. I’m starving. We should call my parents and your parents tonight and share the good news. When
do you want to tell the team? (radiant smile)
Jack: My parents are going to be over the moon. They have been waiting so long to be doting grandparents again. We’ll
share the baby news with the team tomorrow. (megawatt smile)
Sue: Okay. My parents
will be excited. My mom will worry about me. She will probably want to set up temporary residence at our house before and
after our baby is born, at least the first few months. (radiant smile and teases Jack)
Jack: There is so much to do and not enough time to get everything ready for our baby. (concern smile)
Sue: Well, now you
have me worried. You’re supposed to be calm while I have hormones raging inside me. (concern smile)
Jack: I am calm. Everything is going to be alright. Trust me. I’m going to make sure our baby comes into this
world safe and sound. (megawatt smile)
Sue: I know you are.
Boy, I’ve had this weird craving all day. Forget lunch. Take me anywhere that serves sushi. (radiant smile, laughs,
and teases Jack)
Jack: Really? I thought you dislike sushi with a vengeance. (megawatt smile, laughs, and raise eyebrows)
Sue: So did I but
apparently our baby takes after his or her father. This little one wants sushi and lots of it. (radiant smile and laughs)
Jack: Goody. I can’t wait for you to come into the world, little guy or little gal. Let’s take your mom
to lunch. Then we can go shopping after lunch if you want? (megawatt smile and laughs)
Sue: You want to go
shopping, but I thought you hate going to the mall? (curious smile and laughs)
Jack: Well, in this case I’m making an exception. When Meg was pregnant with Tom, she my mom went shopping
for maternity clothes. So I want to help in anyway I can to make your pregnancy a little easier on you. (megawatt smile and
his signature wink)
Sue: That’s
very thoughtful of you, honey. Don’t take this the wrong way, but I would rather go shopping for maternity clothes with
my mom or Lucy. I mean, it would be weird to go shopping with you. (laughs) But thank you for the offer, Jack. Besides, I
can still fit in my clothes for the time being. (lighthearted smile and teases Jack)
