Chapter 29: Jack & Sue's Wedding Party
Emma: I’m so happy for you and Jack. You two make me believe that there
is still a prince waiting out there for me too. And whoever he might be; he has to be willing to accept me and Jenny. I hope
someday I find Mr. Right. (smile)
Sue: Oh you will. I wonder where my husband is; I hope he didn’t leave
without me. (smile and laughs)
Emma: Jack is dancing with Jenny, Sarah, and Grace over there. Those girls
know how to party. But I think we better cut in on the fun so you can dance with your husband. (smile)
Sue: Oh that’s okay. Let those girls have a little more time with the
groom before I steal him away. Besides, I like watching Jack dance with them. He is terrific with children. (radiant smile)
Emma: I bet you two are going to have a full house someday. I wish you all
the best. (smile)
Sue: Thank you. Now that I’m married, I want everyone to be as happy
as I am. So when I come back from my honeymoon, you better watch out. I’m going to set you up with a few good men; because
you never know when you’ll meet Mr. Right. (lighthearted smile)
Half
an hour later, Sue comes over to Jack and he pulls Sue into his arms, right where she belongs. As the band plays more love
songs; the happy couple dance, lost in each other’s embrace.
In a short
while, Lucy went to the microphone stand to make an announcement. “Come on, don’t be shy. Let’s move people.
It’s time for all the single ladies and single men to come to the center”.
Sue will toss her bouquet and then Jack will toss her garter. Lucy joins
the single ladies in the center as Sue gets ready to toss her bouquet. Just as Sue releases the bouquet, all the ladies scramble
to catch it. So who gets the bouquet?
As it turns
out, Sue’s bouquet landed right in front of Tara and she caught it with one hand. The single ladies gathered around Tara,
she was baffled and all the ladies congratulated her. Next up, the single men all stand in the center ready to catch Sue’s
garter. Bobby unwillingly joins the men. Who will catch Sue’s garter?
Jack has
a plan, but will his plan work. Just as Jack releases the garter, all the men scramble to catch it in mid-air. Funny thing
is, Sue’s garter landed right in front of Bobby and he caught it with one hand. The single men gathered around Bobby
and gave him a pat on the back, he was mystified.
By
now, the reception is winding down; there is just one thing left to do; cut the wedding cake. But first, Jack wants to have
one last dance with Sue. He encircled his arms around her waist, careful to not step on her wedding gown.
They dance to the song called “Your Love ”. It
goes like this: It's not the flowers/ Wrapped in fancy paper/ It's not the ring I wear around my finger./ There's
nothing in all the world I need/ When I have you here beside me/ Here beside me/Chorus: So you could give me wings to fly/
And catch me if I fall/ Or pull the stars down from the sky/ So I could wish on them all/But I couldn't ask for more/ 'Cause your love is the greatest gift of all/ In your arms/ I found a strength inside
of me/ And in your eyes/ There's a light to guide me/ I would be lost without you/ And all that my heart could ever want/
Has come true/ Sing: Chorus Repeat/ Bridge: You could offer me the sun, the moon/ And I would still believe/ You gave me everything/
When you gave your heart to me/ Piano Solo/ I couldn't ask for more/ 'Cause your love is the greatest gift of all/ Sing: Chorus Repeat
Jack: You are the most beautiful bride ever. No question about that. And I’m the
luckiest man in the world. (megawatt smile)
Sue: You’re going to make me cry again. I promise to make sure you feel lucky everyday
for the rest of our lives together. You know the wedding turned out perfectly better than I ever imagined. I must say I did
a pretty good job with the preparations. (radiant smile)
Jack: You did a terrific job Mrs. Hudson.
You are my perfect bride. When do you think we can sneak off to get started on our honeymoon? (megawatt smile and raise eyebrows)
Sue: I’m your only bride. Don’t
forget that for one second buster. Are you in a hurry for some reason, Mr. Hudson? (radiant smile and teases Jack)
Jack: Do you have to even ask? I’ll
never tire of looking at you over the rim of our coffee cups. (laughs) But I really want to get away from this crowd this
instant. (megawatt smile and teases Sue)
Sue: Thank you sweetheart. I think you have
the right idea. Let’s cut our wedding cake so we can leave. (radiant smile)
Jack: Now who’s in a hurry? No one
on earth could ever be as happy as we are right now. And I love calling you Mrs. Hudson. (megawatt smile)
Sue: As usual you are right again. But I
really want to be alone with you. And I love calling you Mr. Hudson. (radiant smile)
