Epilogue: Welcome Home Two Angels

Two hours later, all four grandparents hovered in the doorway until Jack waved them in. They all glanced down at the two bassinets and could not stop grinning. Sue’s dad took her hand in his and gave her a kiss on the cheek. They cooed and doted on their grandchildren and brought teddy bears and other baby gifts.

While one set of grandparents got to hold their grandson. The other set of grandparents got to hold their granddaughter. Of course, they switched back and forth taking care not to wake up the babies. Sue’s mom laced her arm through her husband’s, glowing with pride. Jack’s parents were in seventh heaven with two more grandchildren to spoil. Jack’s mom decided they better leave now or they’ll never want to leave.

And let Sue get some well-deserved rest. One by one each family member filed by and gave her a kiss on the cheek before taking their leave. Tomorrow they’ll come back to check on her and those two precious darlings.

Three days after Sue’s delivery, Jack and Sue welcomed their son and daughter home from the hospital. When they got to the house, Jack opened the car door for Sue.

Jack carried  Joshua & Hailey, their two bundles of joy into the house. For the very first time, proud new parents opened the nursery door and placed their son and their daughter in their own cribs.

Jack: Welcome home, kids. This is your room. I’ll give you a tour of your house later on. (megawatt smile and his signature wink)

Sue: Look, Jack. They are smiling and staring at the mural on the ceiling. I think they like their nursery. Your dad is a pretty amazing guy. (glowing smile as she gazes down at their twins)

Backyard Barbeque at The Hudson’s Home

Sue absolutely loves her life. How could she not when she has the greatest husband in the world. She loves waking up each morning with Jack by her side. She loves holding their son and their daughter in her arms as she rocks both babies to sleep, one at a time. She even loves the two a.m. late-night feedings. Two weeks later, they invited their co-workers and friends over to see their twins and have a barbeque.

Mark, Renee, and Grace stop by and brought along baby presents. Diane could not make it to the barbeque because she is working on a big case and Candice is taking summer school to get her GED.

However, Diane dropped by yesterday morning to sneak a peek at the twins and deliver two baby presents. Bruce, Trent, Chris, Jessica, and Mack send their best wishes and each of them sent baby presents. Patrick and Wes sent baby presents and best wishes for Jack & Sue’s new family.

Abby, Meg, Matt, and their kids flew in to see their uncle Jack. Sarah and Tom could not stop talking about their new cousins. All the children played tag while the grown-ups talk. Kevin, Amanda, and Togo stop by to see the twins and brought presents also. Abby, Meg, and Matt cooed over their nephew and niece. Levi loves sleeping next to their cribs and watch over the twins while they sleep. Levi is waiting for the day he can play with the twins in the backyard.

Jack held  Joshua, his son in his arms and gently kissed him on his head, soothing him back to sleep. Jack looked at her across their backyard and met her eyes. The smile he gave Sue still made her heart go pitter-patter in her chest.

Meanwhile, Sue sat down on the lounge chair holding Hailey, her daughter in the crook of her arm. Lucy, Tara, Donna, Emma, Darcy, and Renee are talking with Sue.

Jack came over and kissed her on the cheek. Then he put his son down in his port-a-crib and lifted his daughter into his arms. He swayed slightly to keep her happy as he stood talking to Dimitrius, Bobby, Myles, Mark, Kevin, and Stanley.

It was a delightful summer day and at least ten rolls of film were taken. The Hudson family has just started to grow and more memories will be made for sure throughout the coming years.

Guess what? Jack and Sue celebrate their second anniversary with their adorable twins.
